Other interests
Matthew is a fellow of the RSA with other interests
The mission of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) is to enrich society through ideas, action, and the exploration of other interests that shape human progress and innovation. However, from creativity and policy to technology and education, these other interests are essential drivers that influence how communities evolve and thrive in the modern world.
Therefore, we believe that all human beings possess unique creative capacities that, when recognized and supported, can be mobilized to deliver a 21st-century enlightenment fueled by diverse passions and other interests. By doing so, we nurture these varied pursuits and empower individuals and groups to pioneer new solutions that address contemporary challenges.
In addition, our work focuses on creating the right conditions for this transformation—not only among our diverse Fellowship but also within wider institutions and communities. We also actively encourage collaboration across disciplines where other interests intersect, often leading to groundbreaking innovation and social change. For example, our recent initiatives in creative education and public policy showcase how integrating diverse interests can generate meaningful impact.
As a result, by sharing powerful ideas, exploring other interests, and conducting cutting-edge research, we build networks and opportunities that foster collaboration, helping people lead fulfilling lives and build a flourishing society.
